How Baccarat Works on new88
Baccarat uses a standard playing deck (or eight-deck shoe, depending on the table). Each card has a value: numbered cards (2–9) are worth their face value; 10, Jack, Queen, and King are worth zero; Ace is worth one. The croupier draws cards until the hand reaches a total of eight or nine, or both hands stand, at which point the highest total wins.
Your bet goes down before the croupier says "No more bets." Then two cards are dealt face-up to the Player box and two to the Banker box. If either hand totals eight or nine immediately, that hand wins (called a "natural"). If not, a third card may be drawn according to fixed rules. You do not control whether a third card is drawn — the rules do this automatically.
- Player bet
- You win if the Player hand totals higher than the Banker hand. Payoff is 1:1 (you win your stake amount).
- Banker bet
- You win if the Banker hand totals higher than the Player hand. Payoff is 1:1, but a non-specific info commission is deducted from winnings.
- Tie bet
- You win if both hands total the same. Payoff is usually 8:1 or 9:1 depending on table rules.
The Banker bet carries a non-specific info commission because the Banker hand is dealt last and therefore has a mathematical advantage — the Banker sees the Player total before deciding whether to draw a third card.
Third Card Rules
If neither the Player nor Banker has a natural (8 or 9), the game continues according to fixed drawing rules. The Player hand draws a third card if its total is 0–5. If the Player total is 6 or 7, the Player stands and does not draw. The Banker hand then acts based on its total and what the Player's third card was (if drawn).
You do not need to memorize these rules — the croupier handles the draws automatically. Your only decision is which bet to place: Player, Banker, or Tie. Once the cards are dealt and the rules are applied, the outcome is instant and final.
Why Banker Odds Are Different
The Banker draws after the Player, so the Banker has information that the Player does not. Over many shoes, this timing advantage gives the Banker a slightly higher win rate. To balance this, Banker wins pay 1:1 minus non-specific info commission, while Player wins pay the full 1:1. Statistically, a Banker bet and a Player bet have nearly identical long-term value once you account for the commission.
Tie bets are rarer (both hands total the same), so the payout is higher: typically 8:1 or 9:1. However, Ties occur far less frequently, so most players focus on Player or Banker bets for consistency.
Placing Your Bets
On the new88 app, your bet slip appears on the lower half of the screen. Tap your chosen outcome (Player, Banker, or Tie), select your stake amount, and confirm. Once the croupier announces "No more bets," your chips are locked in. The croupier then deals the cards live on camera.
You can watch the entire hand play out in real time. The camera shows the dealing shoe, each card as it is dealt, and the croupier's face as they announce the result. No hidden calculations — everything is transparent and immediate.
Table Variants and Betting Limits
new88 offers multiple Baccarat tables with different minimum and maximum bet limits. Casual players can find tables with low minimums — suited for testing the game or playing smaller stakes. High-roller tables accept much larger bets and often feature premium seating and dedicated croupiers.
Some tables offer side bets in addition to Player, Banker, and Tie. Common side bets include "Perfect Pair" (Player or Banker hand contains two cards of the same rank) or "Either Pair" (any hand contains a pair). Side bets carry their own payouts and odds, published on the table before you join. You can place a main bet (Player/Banker/Tie) and a side bet simultaneously if you wish.
Mobile Streaming and Bandwidth
Our Baccarat streams are encoded in H.265 format, which compresses video efficiently without sacrificing quality. Even on a 3G connection, you see a clear image of the cards and the croupier. Our adaptive bitrate system scales resolution up or down based on your real-time connection speed. If you drop to a slower network mid-session, the video automatically adjusts resolution so the stream does not buffer.
Latency (the delay between the studio and your screen) is typically under five seconds. This means the croupier announces the result and your screen updates almost simultaneously. You never wait long to see if you won.
Payment and Account Management
Deposits on new88 Baccarat are instant. We support DANA, e-wallet, mobile banking, local payment, online payment, and e-wallet, plus direct bank transfers via mobile banking, local payment, online payment, and e-wallet. Your balance updates the moment the payment confirms. You can begin playing Baccarat immediately after a deposit.
Withdrawals process through the same method you funded. If you deposited via mobile banking, your withdrawal returns to local payment. Bank transfers may take slightly longer due to banking processing windows. We do not hold funds — your request is sent to the payment channel immediately upon submission, subject to your account being verified.
Account Verification for Withdrawals
When you request your first withdrawal, we ask for identity verification. You upload a government-issued ID (KTP, passport, or driver's license) and a proof of address (utility bill, bank statement, or rental agreement). Our compliance team reviews these documents within one business day. Once approved, your withdrawal is processed immediately.
Verification protects both you and us from fraud. It ensures that only the rightful account holder can withdraw funds. If your submission is unclear or the name does not match, we request a resubmission — there is no penalty, and you can upload as many times as needed until we approve it.
